We have an opportunity for an experienced
Senior Technical Manager
based out of our head office in Basingstoke.

It's an exciting time to join us to help us deliver our ambitious development programme of 25,000 new homes over the next 10 years. Sovereign Network Group (SNG) provide over 85,000 homes and invest in communities across London and the South of England – our purpose to provide quality affordable homes and thriving communities over generations.

The role:

This role will support the delivery of all technical functions within the Land and New Business and Regeneration teams to help meet the new business delivery targets for S106, Land-Led, JV and Regeneration opportunities. This role shall lead SNG's development brief, designs, specifications and relevant information, ensure execution and specification with due regard to cost, quality, time and overall viability, by design consultants and contractors, so that the SNG's objectives are fully met.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Managing external consultant teams and mentor and coach technical employees. Co-ordinating the Regional Development team in implementing agreed design, procurement, and delivery strategies to mitigate risk and optimise viable development opportunities.
  • Leading engineering / technical / geotechnical due-diligence analysis of proposed land bids.
  • Supervising technical management analysis with regards house / apartment typologies and compliance with building regulations, net-zero carbon targets and NHBC technical standards.
  • Reviewing and improving designs for compatibility with the approved concept, financial budget, functional suitability.
  • Proactively manage, deliver and or discharge the necessary statutory consents and ensure design compliance with the required regulations.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience as a Technical Manager in a technical role delivering low rise housing and mid-height apartments from concept to completion on green and brown-field sites.
  • Demonstrate technical and engineering excellence when technically appraising land / constraints / abnormal in support of new business and major projects teams.
  • Significant experience in delivering Regulatory and Statutory / Warranty compliance as it relates to residential development.
  • Ability to lead on technical excellence in sustainability, net-zero carbons solutions, fabric-first approach and renewable technologies.
  • Significant practical knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC technical Standards, specifications current and emerging) as it relates to residential development and ability to integrate the same into emerging technical designs.
  • Evident experience managing and discharging Planning Conditions of a technical nature.
