Maintenance Operative

Location: Ipswich & Suffolk |part-time| Immediate Start

Orkis Group Ltd is a dynamic and growing property management company dedicated to providing high-quality supported living environments for vulnerable adults. We are currently seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our team in Ipswich and Suffolk.

Role Summary:

As our Maintenance Operative, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and comfort of our supported living properties. You'll handle general repairs, respond to emergencies, and address damage caused by tenants—ensuring the living spaces remain welcoming and operational for those who depend on them most.

Some Key Responsibilities are:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and report findings to the Regional Manager
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding maintenance issues
  • Escalate building or service-related concerns raised by staff to the client team
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies in a timely and effective manner
  • Tighten or repair door handles, furniture fixings, monitor arms, and toilet seats
  • Replace desktop fuses and lightbulbs
  • Check socket-to-desk power supply continuity
  • Inspect distribution board breakers
  • Isolate water supplies when required
  • Unblock sinks, toilets, and urinals
  • Assist with regular fire alarm tests
  • Carry out any additional reasonable tasks during working hours logged onto our system

We require a candidate with a Full UK driving licence.

Some vehicles may be age restricted so utlising your own vehicle may be required with business insurance (mileage is paid).

The role has the scope for growth as we are actively looking to assign more responsibilities for candidates that wish to progress to management and oversight roles.

Experience in any trade is valuable and key to good quality maintenance.

Job Types: Part-time (16 hours per week with overtime available) 6 month contract

Pay: £13 per hour
