Job Description

Title: Manager, Technology Resilience
Reports To: Global Head of Technology Resilience

Role Purpose

The role will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology resilience capabilities across the Howden Group.

This role is an opportunity to build expertise in technology resilience and IT disaster recovery in a large, complex organisation. The role will contribute to day-to-day activities, project delivery, governance, and reporting while learning from experienced colleagues.

The position is suited to candidates with a keen interest in technology resilience, good foundational technical and tech operations knowledge, and a collaborative approach to working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme support and delivery

  • Contribute to the delivery of technology resilience initiatives and projects, supporting workstreams under the guidance of the Global Head of Technology Resilience. This will include the resilience aspects of ITSM (including the CMDB).This may include taking responsibility for work streams within the programme.

  • Assist in the assessment, selection and implementation of specific IT resilience and recovery tools.

  • Assist in maintaining project plans, tracking progress, and coordinating inputs from internal teams and business units.

Governance and Documentation

  • Support the development of the technology resilience governance capability, its supporting metrics and linkages to operational resilience.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of documentation, including policies, standards, guidelines, and meeting records.

  • Support the development reports and materials for governance meetings and senior stakeholders and

Testing and Validation

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and recording results of technology resilience exercises and disaster recovery tests.

  • Help document lessons learned and track follow-up actions.

Data and Reporting

  • Support the collection and analysis of data to measure resilience capabilities, readiness, and compliance.

  • Help produce regular reports on key metrics, testing outcomes, and risk indicators.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with technology teams and business units in the development and operation of our IT resilience capability.

  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across Group entities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and documentation related to technology resilience.

  • Keep up to date with trends and developments in technology resilience, cloud, and IT risk.

Candidate Profile

Skills and Experience

  • Experience:

    • 3–5 years in technology resilience, IT disaster recovery, operational resilience, technology risk, IT service management, or related fields.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • A general understanding of core IT concepts (infrastructure, applications, cloud services) and business continuity.

    • Consulting or operational experience in IT Disaster Recovery and IT service management (particularly change, incident and configuration management.

    • Familiarity with PS21/3 and DORA regulations

    • Familiarity ISO standards, or related frameworks (desirable but not essential).

  • Organisation and Delivery:

    • Experience supporting large projects, leading workstreams, reporting in a technology environment.

  • Communication:

    • Ability to produce clear, well-structured documents and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Reporting Line

This role reports to the Global Head of Technology Resilience and will work closely with:

  • Group Cyber Security, IT Service Management, and Architecture teams.

  • Operational resilience and business continuity teams.

  • Local technology and operational teams across the Group's entities.

The role will also have exposure to the Group's senior leadership.
