The Opportunity

We're looking for a motivated, self-driven professional to join us as Self-Employed Business Development Manager.

This is a commission-only opportunity with uncapped earning potential — ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term revenue stream, enjoy flexible working, and represent a respected UK brand.

Whether you currently sell card machines, commercial insurance, merchant services or marketing this role gives you the tools to grow your income and expand your client offering.

You'll receive full training and accreditation at no cost, plus access to brand materials, marketing support, and partner tools to help you succeed.

This role suits:

  • Individuals with at least 1 year of B2B sales experience who want to grow their income independently.
  • Self-employed professionals already selling services such as payment systems, insurance, marketing, utilities, or other business solutions who want to add telecoms and energy to their portfolio and unlock new recurring revenue streams.
  • People who thrive on building relationships, not just making sales, and want the flexibility to manage their own time and territory.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, approach, and close new business opportunities within your territory.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners, partners, and directors.
  • Present energy and telecoms solutions clearly and professionally to decision-makers.
  • Manage your own leads, diary, and sales pipeline.
  • Provide outstanding customer engagement — whether by phone, online, or in person.
  • Collaborate with Connect & Grid's support team for quoting, onboarding, and renewals.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of B2B or equivalent sales experience (required).
  • Confident communicating with business decision-makers.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and manage your own activity.
  • Professional, honest, and customer-focused communication style.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Applicants must be UK-based
    with the legal right to work in the UK.
  • (This role is not open to international applicants.)
