Development Opportunity: Band 7/ 8a – Patient Flow Lead (ED Liaison & Site Manager)
Location: Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust
Contract: Fixed term/Secondment
We are delighted to offer Band 7/ 8a development opportunity for the right person. They will be passionate about patient flow motivated to ensure right patient journey for all of our patients individuals to join our Patient Flow team. Able to deal with complex scenarios and is an effective problem solver that can work with teams to effectively support flow. This post will support site-wide patient flow while also providing vital Emergency Department liaison and Site Manager cover.
Main duties of the job
The Successful Candidate Will
- Act as a key link between the Emergency Department and inpatient services, ensuring timely flow of patients into the right bed, first time.
- Provide leadership and coordination, supporting safe and effective hospital-wide operations.
- Lead daily patient flow meetings and support escalation management.
- Work closely with clinical and operational teams to reduce delays and improve patient experience.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop senior operational leadership experience, building confidence in both patient flow and hospital site management.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Is a registered healthcare professional (NMC )
- Has strong communication and influencing skills.
- Can work under pressure, making safe and effective decisions in real time.
- Enjoys collaborative working across multi-disciplinary teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role with direct exposure to Trust-wide operational management, patient flow improvement, and emergency care liaison.
