Role Overview:
The Health and Wellbeing Team are a passionate group of health professionals who empower people to make lasting changes to their health and wellbeing and improve their quality of life. This role will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating mental health programmes, including but not limited to the Active Wellbeing programme across Wandsworth and Richmond.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading and delivering all aspects of the Active Wellbeing programme; personalised one-to-one exercise support for people with a diagnosis of severe mental illness (SMI). This includes planning, development, delivery, promotion, and reporting.
- Deliver initial and follow up service user assessments for adults with SMI in collaboration with exercise instructors.
- Line management of Mental Health Support Officer, scheduling regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and support staff development.
- Line management of the Mental Health Support Officer including supporting staff development, scheduling regular 121s and carrying out performance reviews.
- Recruit, train, and supervise delivery staff and volunteers ensuring all members of the team are appropriately qualified. This includes rewarding and motivating the team and upskilling the workforce and organisations to build capacity and support sustainability.
- Develop partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery and growth of the programmes.
- Working with Enable Marketing and Communications department, create and implement a marketing and communication plan. This will include press releases, social media activity, producing promotional literature.
- Attend and coordinate community events to network, present and promote inclusive programmes. Support the delivery of other Health and Wellbeing events.
- Manage programme budgets as required. Monitor and document income and expenditure according to Enable policy and procedure.
- Manage key performance data from activities, including the collection of this data. Utilise the online database along with other systems to record key outcomes and indicators effectively to ensure reporting is accurate and delivered on-time.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of your work. Provide written reports, summaries, and presentations as required.
- Support the Senior Mental Health Lead to identify and apply for additional funds to support the growth of programmes.
- Assists in managing resources provided to support the departments work including staff, volunteers, materials, and equipment ensuring these are used and maintained effectively.
- To comply with all Enable's Codes of practice, including the Code of Conduct, and policies and procedures concerning data protection and health and safety.

- To be fully aware of the principles of safeguarding as they apply to children and vulnerable adults in relation to your work role. To ensure that your line manager is made aware and kept fully informed of any concerns which you may have in relation to safeguarding.
- Required to work across multiple sites within Wandsworth and Richmond as part of a usual working week.
- Required to travel inside and outside of the boroughs for service delivery.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post.
Skills and Experience:
- Holds an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in health, psychology, sport or exercise sciences (or similar) to demonstrate expertise.
- Knowledge & awareness of relevant national, regional and local policies and initiatives within health, physical activity & public health.
- Knowledge and understanding of the benefits of physical activity, and the barriers to being physically active.
- Knowledge and Understanding of how physical activity can benefit people who are affected by Serve Mental Illness.
- Knowledge of Wandsworth and Richmond and the community organisations that operate in the borough. (desirable)
- Experience in working with people with Seve Mental Illness in the community or clinical setting.
- Experience of conducting one-to-one assessments gathering valuable information to make decisions.
- Experience in reporting safeguarding issues and concerns with regards to vulnerable adults when necessary.
- Good monitoring and evaluation skills with the ability to bring together multiple data sets and analyse data. Ability to present this data for a variety of audiences.
