Companion Support Worker

We have a job vacancy in Nailsea, in the BS48 area to become a companion for an older person recently diagnosed with dementia looking for support. £14/hour.
No personal care required.
The client is looking for a companion, ideally a chap, who can hunt out live music, art exhibitions, and theatre trips on a Wednesday each week 2-4pm.

Role Profile:
Growing older or having health issues doesn't have to mean giving up independence. Our focus is on keeping minds active and engaged as well as tackling loneliness amongst the local population. A companion is responsible for making our clients lives that little bit brighter through providing consistent and high-quality support. They assist others' loved ones to achieve daily tasks, fulfil personal goals and to live as independently as possible. These individuals may be vulnerable, lack cognitive ability or be physically limited. This provision comes in the form of promoting choice and encouraging lots of activities, hobbies and interests.

Tasks and key responsibilities:
- Adhere to the agreed companionship pen picture
- Demonstrate consistent punctuality and reliability
- Supporting clients in completing everyday tasks and activities (meeting up with friends, shopping, cooking, cleaning, banking, appointments, visiting relatives, attending groups, day trips out)
- Report any improvements that can be made to clients' services
- Carry out and remain up to date with all training
- Be compliant with all policies and or procedures

Desirable Criteria:
- Awareness of Health and Social Care/Health best practice
- First aider
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.00 per hour
