Purpose of job

As the Product Delivery Team Leader, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of IT products and services, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standards.

  • The Product Delivery Team Leader is responsible for Agile / Scrum methodology and planning activities for the IT roadmap.
  • Driving the IT teams adoption of cross functional ways of working / Agile Squads and growing a team of agile evangelists to support IT and Business Services adoption of Agile ways of working.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that initiatives and related frameworks are in place and maintained.
  • To understand the SDLC model and specifically, what the activities are to manage an application development implementation.
  • To deliver a solid set of requirements artefacts, to understand the standards, translate business needs into technical requirements, to develop and implement solid test plans and test cases / scenarios and what is required to accurately test all aspects of the system and to maintain detailed and accurate documentation.
  • You will work with the Director of Business Solutions to build a Product Delivery team of Business Analysts, Scrum Masters and QAs.

Accountabilities

  • Coach and mentor your team members to become evangelists of Agile process. Ensure they are supported and have all they need to thrive and develop in a fast-paced IT change environment.
  • Be central to the agile transformation journey across IT and the wider business services team, helping members of various teams and levels of seniority transition from a Project to Product mindset.
  • Development and management of plans, roadmaps and running our quarterly planning sessions.
  • Define and deliver individual project deliverables as a part of the overall program deliverables, manage the expectations of stakeholders, manage stakeholder relationships, manage agile squads in delivering initiatives, communicate and manage tasks and activities to a schedule with the team, and provide feedback to team members as appropriate.
  • Effectively manage the plan, scope / budget / resource management, time management (activities and task planning), communications, risk management, QA and testing, user training, ongoing maintenance and support.
  • Perform requirements gathering and analytical techniques, interview techniques, data gathering techniques, system documentation, business modelling methods, business process, rules and logic, data gathering to solve complex issues, development of implementation plans, development of requirements and key analytical troubleshooting.
  • Lead the QA function to develop and implement test strategies / plans / scenarios to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Lend support to various business and technology teams as necessary during delivery.
  • Accurately assess the risks associated with each solution design / initiative.
  • Support the development of team members from a professional and technical level.

The candidate

  • Requires a minimum of Batchelor's Degree in a Computer Science / Business Analysis or able to demonstrate relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in Agile project management / business analysis within software development projects, or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • You will have lead an agile delivery team and will be able to demonstrate successful delivery over a multi-year period.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the SDLC models / Agile Scrum methodology, IT systems and their direct implementation to projects.
  • Experience in driving business change and in particular in operational models and cross functional working.
  • A strong coaching mindset is essential to invest and grow your team.
  • Leadership and management skills in leading technical personnel through the delivery of software development projects.
  • Strong business and systems analysis skills, test planning and testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerous technical environments and architectures.
  • Ability to apply common, object-oriented modelling techniques, including UML, use case, activity and sequence diagrams.
  • Experience with requirements management, use case and modelling tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail skills through prior experience at the tactical / implementation levels.
