Glendale care home in Walton - On - Thmes provides quality 24-hour residential care and specialist care for residents with dementia. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyperson to join our team at Glendale Care Home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the home remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for our residents, staff, and visitors
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep of the care home.
- Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical tasks as required.
- Conduct routine checks of equipment, fixtures, and fittings to ensure safety and compliance.
- Support with fire safety checks, health & safety audits, and record-keeping.
- Liaise with external contractors when specialist work is required.
- Assist staff and residents with practical tasks, such as moving furniture or minor adjustments.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens, pathways, and car parks, to a high standard.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role (care home or similar environment desirable).
- Practical skills across a range of trades (basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating).
- Strong awareness of health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent issues and occasional out-of-hours needs
