Glendale care home in Walton - On - Thmes provides quality 24-hour residential care and specialist care for residents with dementia. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyperson to join our team at Glendale Care Home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the home remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for our residents, staff, and visitors

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep of the care home.
• Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical tasks as required.
• Conduct routine checks of equipment, fixtures, and fittings to ensure safety and compliance.
• Support with fire safety checks, health & safety audits, and record-keeping.
• Liaise with external contractors when specialist work is required.
• Assist staff and residents with practical tasks, such as moving furniture or minor adjustments.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens, pathways, and car parks, to a high standard.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Person Specification:

• Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role (care home or similar environment desirable).
• Practical skills across a range of trades (basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating).
• Strong awareness of health & safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Flexibility to respond to urgent issues and occasional out-of-hours needs

• We have a low Staff turnover and have staffs that have been committed to our service for over 30years. We have easy access from Walton station and Hersham Station. There is also a bus from Kingston, which drops you just outside the home
• We always promoted customer independence, provide choices and support with regular activities and involving in the community, we treat our customer with respect and dignity
