The Leadership Team and Governors of our school would love to appoint
a committed, enthusiastic and inspiring teaching assistant
to support children with additional needs in Key Stage One.
Our school is a welcoming and fully inclusive rural school at the centre of a village community. The successful applicants, who will join our supportive team will have a strong commitment to creating engaging and adaptive provision, which enables all children to flourish and reach their full potential. We will consider any special skills, experience or training within SEND provision, either mainstream or specialist.
The Role
Within this role, you will be working within Key Stage One to support language and communication needs, alongside social, emotional and mental health needs.
We will require a Teaching Assistant who can build a positive rapport with SEND children and support them throughout their day at school.
We are a Therapeutic Thinking school, which offers a range of sensory led activities. This includes amongst other things: Forest School / animal care / gardening / outside play / music / baking / crafts. Support will focus predominantly on igniting the young persons' passions and helping them to discover and celebrate their own unique talents and interests. Over time, this support will gradually move towards increased time in class working on adaptive teaching activities, alongside their peers.

Recent and relevant experience of working with children with special educational needs, in at least one primary setting is desirable, but not essential as training will be given.

- Be able to work as part of a team and establish positive relationships with pupil, parents, Governors and staff
