Are you passionate about making a real difference to people's lives? We're looking for someone to drive forward our "Foundations for Change: Tackling Poverty†strategy, which launched in September 2025. As Anti-Poverty Implementation Lead, you'll coordinate targeted interventions, work with partners across the borough, and help to start shaping a long-term, system-wide approach to tackling poverty in Barking and Dagenham. You'll work with a multidisciplinary project team, establish and coordinate an Anti-Poverty Board, and ensure that the voices of residents are at the heart of everything we do. This is a unique opportunity to deliver meaningful change, influence policy, and work collaboratively with council services, voluntary and community groups, and other partners. This is a 6-month secondment opportunity.

About you

You'll bring: - Experience of working and leading on a range of projects or programmes in a public sector setting - A strong understanding of anti-poverty policy and the ability to design, initiate and evaluate impactful interventions. - Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills. - Experience of matrix-managing members of a project team from a range of disciplines. - A commitment to equalities, diversity, and inclusion, with experience of embedding - these in project delivery. - The ability to engage residents and partners, monitor progress, and adapt delivery based on evidence and feedback. - Creativity, innovation, and a solution-focused approach to overcoming barriers. You'll also demonstrate our DRIVE values: Deliver, Respond, Inspire, Value, and Engage.
