About The Client
Our client is a leading engineering and construction firm engaged in high-profile energy projects across the UK. They are currently delivering key infrastructure works at Sizewell C and are seeking a skilled Welding Construction Project Engineer to join their team.

Role Overview
The Welding Construction Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing welding and fabrication activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The successful candidate will act as the technical lead for welding-related construction activities, coordinating between engineering, site teams, and subcontractors to deliver project objectives efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise welding and fabrication activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
  • Review and implement welding procedures, codes, and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant quality and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with design, engineering, and construction teams to resolve technical issues related to welding and fabrication.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure workmanship meets project and industry standards.
  • Monitor performance of subcontractors, providing technical guidance and support as required.
  • Support project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking related to welding and fabrication works.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, maintaining compliance with site safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in welding engineering or welding construction within large-scale industrial or energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, BS EN).
  • Experience with QA/QC procedures and inspection processes in construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and team coordination skills.
  • Relevant welding engineering or construction qualification (e.g., BEng/MEng in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent).

Desirable:

  • Experience on nuclear, energy, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards in construction and welding environments.
