Quality Assurance Technician

Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Quality Assurance Technician to join our fast-paced FMCG environment. You will play a critical role in safeguarding product integrity and brand reputation. This position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills to ensure compliance with food safety standards and customer requirements. You will demonstrate adaptability, collaboration, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement while working under pressure in high-volume production settings.
Working Hours
40 hours per week.
Monday – Friday, core hours of 3:30pm – 11pm.
Weekend coverage may be required depending on business needs and will be distributed fairly across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
- Monitor production lines for compliance with specifications and food safety standards.
- Record and report quality data accurately for traceability.
- Ensure adherence to HACCP, BRCGS, and retailer codes of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date records for audits and inspections.
- Complete GMP and Hygiene Audits, assist in internal system audits and support external audits.
- Identify and escalate non-conformances promptly.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Suggest improvements to processes that enhance product quality and reduce waste.
- Participate in training sessions to strengthen food safety culture.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with LT Foods UK's health & safety, food safety, and quality assurance standards.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly to the appropriate Manager or Shift Supervisor.
- Support the implementation of safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Participate in health and safety briefings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of food safety, legality, compliance, and quality standards within the food manufacturing industry.
- Proactive mindset with a "can-do" attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on collaborative problem-solving with colleagues and delivering practical solutions.
- Previous experience in a technical or quality role within a food manufacturing environment.
- HACCP Level 2 or higher (desirable).
- Food Safety and Hygiene certifications level 2 or higher (desirable).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £32,000.00 per year
