£45,000–£50,000 + benefits

Hours:
Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–14:00 (flexible during travel or site work)

Pertemps Engineering is partnering with specialists in bespoke factory automation and control systems to recruit an experienced Automation Service Engineer. The Role:

As a senior Automation Service Engineer, you will split your time between in-house pre-installation work and on-site project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Electrical installation, machinery commissioning, and post-purchase servicing.
  • Installation of control panels and leading the build of bespoke machines and automation systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards, on time, every time.
  • Mentoring junior team members and collaborating with a dedicated, hardworking team.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Apprentice-trained or qualified industrial electrical fitter (preferred).
  • Experience interpreting electrical (essential) and mechanical (advantageous) engineering drawings.
  • Strong automation machinery experience, including industrial control systems/PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems, industrial networks, and medium-sized assemblies.
  • Experience working in hygienic environments with strong health & safety awareness.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and able to manage time and teams effectively.
  • Flexible with travel (~70%, including UK and North America).
  • Full UK driving licence (≤3 penalty points) and UK/EU passport.
