Costume Designer – Prototype "Phoenix" Uniform

This is a worldwide contract. Cinema Vault Studio is developing 
Phoenix
, a high-concept proof-of-concept feature designed as the spiritual successor to the BBC series 
Bugs
. The film is currently in pre-production with cast including Craig McLachlan and Jesse Birdsall, and serves as a launchpad for a potential series.

We are seeking a 
Costume Designer
 to create the 
Phoenix team uniform
 - a hybrid tactical/techwear design to be unveiled in the film's final sequence, symbolising the rebirth of the new team. This will become a key visual identity for the franchise going forward and will also feature in promotional materials and investor decks.

Responsibilities:

  • Design a functional, film-ready uniform (hybrid of tactical and futurist aesthetics).
  • Produce sketches, 3D concept renders, and/or construction plans.
  • (Optional) Oversee fabrication of a prototype for promotional photography.
  • Collaborate with the director and producers to ensure consistency with the 
    Phoenix
     tone and world-building.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience designing costumes for film, TV, or high-end short productions.
  • Strong understanding of materials, fit, and on-camera practicality.
  • Interest in grounded sci-fi or espionage design aesthetics.

Compensation:

Freelance/Negotiable – this is a prototype design commission with the potential to continue into full production.

Location:

Remote collaboration welcome, UK-based preferred for prototype phase.
