We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Director of People & Organisational Development (OD) to join our senior leadership team at NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). This is a pivotal role, supporting the Director of People & OD, in leading the strategic people agenda across one of the largest and most diverse NHS organisations in Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

As Deputy Director of People & OD, you will:

Lead the development and delivery of the NWSSP People Plan, embedding our values across all services.

Provide expert HR and OD leadership on complex workforce issues to senior managers, clinicians and colleagues.

Drive forward workforce transformation and planning, ensuring our services are fit for the future.

Provide professional leadership to the People and OD function, and champion the development of the Profession within NWSSP.

Provide Employee Relations advice and support to Senior Leaders, including the Single Lead Employer Resident Doctors portfolio.

Champion staff health, wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement, ensuring our people feel valued and supported.

Play a key role in leadership development, cultural change and organisational effectiveness across Wales.

Be a key player within the Deputy Workforce Directors Network across NHS Wales, championing NWSSPs contribution to the overall system.

NWSSP work in an agile way where possible, all posts will have a contractual base but as part of agile ways of working that may mean working from home and other locations. We also look at how we balance flexibility with community, and how to manage opportunities to learn from each other.

This is a highly influential role where you will work with Directors, senior leaders, and national partners to shape People and OD policy and practice at both an organisational and all-Wales level.

We are looking for an inspirational leader with:

  • Master ' s level qualification in HR/OD (or equivalent experience).
  • Chartered CIPD membership (Chartered Fellow desirable).
  • Significant senior-level HR and OD leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • Proven success in workforce strategy, policy development, organisational change and transformation.
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills with the ability to operate effectively at Board level.
  • A passion for staff wellbeing, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Resilience, integrity, and creativity to lead through complexity and change.
