Are you a highly organised and experienced culinary leader ready for a new challenge?

We are seeking a dedicated and creative Head Chef to join our team immediately.

This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the menu and execution of a unique, non-traditional dining concept focused on modern street food.

Key Details

* Job Title: Head Chef

* Pay Rate: £ £14.00 per hour

* Hours: hours per week

* Schedule: Mix of daytime and evening shifts, including weekdays and weekends.

* Guaranteed Day Off: Tuesdays (as the venue is closed)

* Kitchen closes at 9.30pm so we are not a late night kitchen

* Start Date: Immediate

* Probation Period: 3 months

Responsibilities

The Head Chef will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in all dishes.

Key duties include:

* Kitchen Management: Overseeing all daily kitchen operations and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

* Stock Control: Complete responsibility for stock ordering, stock rotation, and meticulous stock organisation.

* Precision and Organisation: Maintaining an analytically organised approach to the kitchen. This includes ensuring all equipment, ingredients, and storage areas are set out and stored in the exact same place and manner every single time for optimal efficiency.

* Menu Development: Working closely with management to assist with the creation of new menus and daily/weekly specials.

* Culinary Vision: Contributing general knowledge and innovative ideas related to global street food, ensuring the menu aligns with our unique brand and concept (we are not a pub).

* Team Leadership: Training and managing kitchen staff to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes and standards.

Requirements

* Experience: A minimum of 1 year of solid experience in a Head Chef or Sous Chef role is essential. Happy to take on a Sous Chef in the role if you meet the criteria

* Stock Expertise: Proven track record in detailed stock management, including ordering and rotation.

* Organisational Skills: Must be exceptionally well-organized and detail-oriented—a systematic and consistent approach to kitchen setup is critical.

* Creative Understanding: A good understanding of and interest in modern street food concepts.

* Brand Alignment: Must quickly understand and commit to our brand and concept, moving away from traditional expectations (e.g., we are not serving typical pub meals).
