Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet the required safety and environmental standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, ensuring all necessary repairs are conducted to maintain vehicle safety.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out inspections and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests, repairs, and services performed on vehicles.
  • Communicate findings to customers clearly and provide recommendations for any necessary work.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while working in the workshop environment.
  • Assist with heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections or repairs.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults effectively.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily duties.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
