About the Role
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on individuals involved in the criminal justice system; those who persistently re-offend and who spend periods of time in and out of custody?
The Criminal Justice team at Forward Leeds is looking for a dedicated Repeat Offender Navigator to play a pivotal role in our mission to support our service users to reduce their likelihood of committing crime and to engage positively in our treatment offer.
The Repeat Offender Navigator is a brand new role within the team and will deliver support to individuals identified as persistent offenders within Leeds and support them in the areas of their life where substance misuse is contributing to their offending behaviour.
The Repeat Offender Navigator will work to motivate and encourage the individuals to make positive changes to their lives and work with the wider specialist teams in Forward Leeds in order to achieve positive outcomes.
What You'll Do
As a Repeat Offender Navigator you will be responsible for:
- Caseload Management: Effectively manage a small caseload of service users, providing comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs and including support when they are serving periods in custody
- Intervention planning: Devise, implement, and review ongoing support plans and treatment strategies in collaboration with the service users. Your role is instrumental in helping them achieve their goals
- Collaborative approach: Work closely with a diverse team of professionals, including the police, fellow colleagues, family members, and significant others, ensuring a holistic and integrated approach to support
- Goal setting: Assist service users in setting and working towards their goals, fostering a safe and supportive environment
To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need:
To succeed in this exciting new role, you will ideally have:
- A strong commitment to the well-being and rehabilitation of service users.
- Substance misuse, support work, mental health, and or criminal justice work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of best practices in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
- Adherence to ethical standards and guidelines in the field.
- A full clean UK driving license with access to a car.
Both police and prison vetting will be carried out during the onboarding process for the successful candidate, failure to meet requirements will result in the offer being retracted.
