JOB TITLE: Full-Time Alternative Provision Coach (30 Hours)

PAY: £17.50–£20.00 per hour (AP) / £13.00–£15.00 (occasional PE support)

HOURS: Monday–Friday, term time

LOCATIONS: Cambridge (Mondays), Peterborough (main), Stamford, Kettering (occasional)

CONTRACT: Full-Time PAYE

About the Role

EcoCoach CIC is recruiting a full-time AP Coach to support vulnerable children across multiple sites.

This is not a PE role — it is an Alternative Provision position designed for someone who wants to make a real difference through movement, coaching, relationships, and trauma-informed practice.

Weekly Structure


• Monday – Cambridge (The Spinney)

You will lead a structured, child-first session working with individual pupils or small groups.


• Tuesday to Friday – Alternative Provision (core)

You will work across our partner sites in:

  • Peterborough (main)
  • Stamford (regular)
  • Kettering (occasional)
  • Cambridge (as needed)

You may occasionally be asked to step into PE support, but AP delivery is the primary focus.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering planned 1:1 and small-group AP sessions
  • Using movement and sport to support emotional regulation
  • Following Play Their Way and trauma-informed methods
  • Maintaining high safeguarding standards
  • Managing behaviour through calm authority
  • Recording key insights to support EHCP and SEMH outcomes

What We're Looking ForEssential

  • Level 2 coaching or Level 3 TA / QTS / Youth Work
  • Experience working with children
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Full UK driving licence + car
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Calm, regulated, child-first
  • Able to travel across sites

Desirable

  • Experience with SEND, SEMH, or 1:1 behaviour work
  • Alternative Provision experience
  • Play Their Way
  • Trauma-informed practice

Pay & Hours

  • AP delivery: £17.50–£20.00/hour
  • Occasional PE support: £13.00–£15.00/hour
  • 30 guaranteed hours per week (term time)
  • Paid induction and CPD
