Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, based on client sites in the South West of England.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing installation, inspection, maintenance, and fault-finding activities across a range of electrical and instrumentation systems in industrial environments.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Installation and maintenance of LV electrical systems and instrumentation loops
  • Inspection and testing in accordance with CompEx and industry standards
  • Calibration of process instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature, etc.)
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of control and instrumentation systems
  • Supporting commissioning and loop checking during project and maintenance activities
  • Ensuring all work complies with JCOS safety policies, site regulations, and industry best practices
  • Completing technical documentation and reports to a high standard

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised qualifications in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)
  • CompEx EX01–EX04 certification (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area equipment and compliance
  • Experience with motor control systems, process control, and field instrumentation
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical and control systems
  • Excellent awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in oil & gas, energy, defence, or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable
