Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, based on client sites in the South West of England.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing installation, inspection, maintenance, and fault-finding activities across a range of electrical and instrumentation systems in industrial environments.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Installation and maintenance of LV electrical systems and instrumentation loops
- Inspection and testing in accordance with CompEx and industry standards
- Calibration of process instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature, etc.)
- Fault diagnosis and repair of control and instrumentation systems
- Supporting commissioning and loop checking during project and maintenance activities
- Ensuring all work complies with JCOS safety policies, site regulations, and industry best practices
- Completing technical documentation and reports to a high standard
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised qualifications in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)
- CompEx EX01–EX04 certification (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of hazardous area equipment and compliance
- Experience with motor control systems, process control, and field instrumentation
- Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical and control systems
- Excellent awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in oil & gas, energy, defence, or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable
