Duties
  • Maintain and optimize AWS EC2 instances, including instance types, autoscaling groups, AMIs, and lifecycle policies.
  • Manage Aurora RDS clusters (PostgreSQL/MySQL), ensuring availability, performance tuning, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Administer S3 buckets for secure and efficient object storage, including lifecycle policies and cross-region replication.
  • Configure and troubleshoot AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, NACLs, route tables, and VPNs.
  • Implement and enforce IAM roles, policies, and permissions to maintain secure and least-privilege access controls. 
  • Support infrastructure automation through tools such as CloudFormation,Terraform, or AWS CDK.
  • Monitor system health and performance using AWS CloudWatch and third-party tools.
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
  • Collaborate with development and security teams to align cloud infrastructure with application needs and security policies.
  • Continuously evaluate AWS services for potential adoption or enhancement of the infrastructure stack.


Educational Qualification

Other competencies
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer (Professional level preferred)
  • Familiarity with container technologies (ECS, EKS, or Docker)
  • Experience in hybrid cloud or on-prem integration
  • Understanding of cost optimization strategies in AWS
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline)


Experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing AWS environments in production settings
  • Deep knowledge of EC2, RDS (Aurora), S3, IAM, and networking within AWS
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation and management tasks
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and incident management skills

Work Environment
  • This position is aligned to US Eastern Time. Standard working hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work required for maintenance and incident response.
  • Available for rotating on-call duties as part of the infrastructure support team.
  • Consistent and reliable internet connection
  • If loss of internet connectivity occurs, the ability to reestablish internet connection within a reasonable time frame to ensure uninterrupted work.
