Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high quality youth work in communities across Oldham, aiming to meet the identified needs of young people.
- Lead on planning and delivering high quality youth work for young people in a variety of settings, using a variety of youth work methods.
- Work directly with young people in the planning and delivery of projects that will challenge, stimulate and provide new learning opportunities.
- Lead delivery of universal and targeted youth work sessions within and alongside schools, community organisations and partnership agencies
- Safeguarding and compliance - ensure all work complies with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Key requirements
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Hold a relevant Youth / Community Work qualification or willing to work towards (JNC for Youth & Community Work qualified at Level 2 equivalent or above or willing to work towards
- Have experience in Youth Work - proven experience delivering activities, interventions, or support that promote wellbeing, resilience, and positive life choices.
- Have strong relationship-building skills, an ability to engage, motivate, and build trust with young people and families from diverse backgrounds, creating a safe and supportive environment.
- This role will involve working evenings, weekends and residentials as required.
