Role Overview:
We're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to drive the development of cutting-edge AI solutions that transform client onboarding and KYC processes. In this role, you'll lead engineering for our flagship AI capability, working across a wide stack of services—from generative AI and machine learning to integration services. You'll be hands-on, building first-class solutions and influencing engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure we deliver the right products in the right way.
Role Responsibilities:
Design and build scalable solutions using microservice architecture.
Collaborate with product teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful changes.
Release code to production frequently, owning the full lifecycle from development to support.
Drive development and troubleshooting of backend systems and AI/ML models.
Deliver document data extraction and unstructured data processing capabilities.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality delivery.
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong experience delivering products to production at pace.
Extensive experience developing microservices using iterative methods (experience without frameworks like SpringBoot is a plus).
Proven expertise with Azure OpenAI/ChatGPT and cloud-based AI solutions.
Solid background in backend technologies and scalable software architecture.
Expertise in developing and consuming REST APIs.
Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead in the evolving AI landscape.

This is a full-time contract position located in Sheffield, England. For this role a valid working permit for the UK is mandatory.
Expectations regarding hybrid working: As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the client's offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our client's policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our client's now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require.
