Job Summary
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Your primary focus will be to provide compassionate support and assistance in daily activities, ensuring that each individual can achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence. This position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to care, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in behaviour or condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support workers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes effectively.
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced staff as needed, promoting best practices in disability support.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication administration records (MAR sheets).
- Administer medication safely and accurately in line with care plans and organisational policies, including recording all medication given.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Experience or knowledge in developing care plans tailored to individual needs is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in IT systems for documentation and reporting is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications in health or social care would be advantageous.
- A compassionate attitude towards individuals with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their rights and well-being.
- Experience in administering medication and using Medication Administration Records (MARs)
- Ability to work evening shifts (4:00 PM – 10:00 PM) and/or night shifts (10:00 PM – 9:00 AM)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
