- Banking and finance litigation – acting for banks, funds and financial institutions
- International arbitration – including ICC, LCIA and other major institutions
- Regulatory investigations and enforcement
- Fraud and investigations – including complex, multi‑party matters
- Sector disputes – including technology, infrastructure, energy and real estate
Key Responsibilities
- Running and assisting on High Court litigation and international arbitration matters
- Drafting and reviewing complex commercial contracts, pleadings and evidence
- Coordinating cross-border disputes and working with overseas counsel
- Advising a sophisticated client base, including corporates, financial institutions, funds and HNWIs
- Using technology, AI tools, litigation analytics and e‑disclosure platforms to support case strategy
- Supporting business development and contributing to client pitches and thought leadership
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members (where appropriate to your level)
To be considered, you will need:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Minimum 5 years' PQE in commercial litigation (more experienced candidates are very welcome to apply)
- Strong experience from a national, international or top-tier commercial firm (including City, Magic Circle or leading international practices)
- Proven track record in:
- High Court litigation (not solely County Court work)
- High-value claims (typically £1m+; ideally multi‑million‑pound disputes)
- International arbitration (ICC, LCIA or similar)
- Multi‑jurisdictional and cross‑border disputes
- Exposure to one or more of: banking/finance disputes, corporate/M&A disputes, fraud, regulatory investigations, IP or real estate litigation
- Excellent drafting, advocacy and analytical skills
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to give pragmatic, business‑focused advice
- Confident managing client relationships and working under pressure on high‑stakes matters
- High level of technology proficiency, including:
- Litigation analytics platforms
- AI‑driven research or drafting tools
- E‑disclosure / document review platforms
- Comfortable working with complex data and large document sets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail
This role offers clear, structured progression for the right person. Depending on your level, you can expect:
- A defined path towards Senior Associate and beyond
- Opportunities to lead matters and supervise juniors as you progress
- Involvement in firm-wide initiatives, business development and client relationship management
- Support for developing a sector or practice niche (e.g. financial services, tech, energy, infrastructure)
- Access to high-quality training, mentoring and ongoing professional development
In return, our client offers a highly competitive package, which is likely to include:
- Salary: circa £95,000–£130,000 depending on PQE and experience
- Performance-related bonus
- Hybrid working – typically 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
- 25+ days' annual leave plus bank holidays (with the potential to buy/sell days)
- Contributory pension scheme
- Private medical insurance and other health/wellbeing benefits
- Life assurance and income protection
- Enhanced parental leave
- Season ticket loan and/or travel support
- Professional subscriptions paid (e.g. Law Society)
- Regular social events and a supportive, collaborative team culture
Location & Office
- Location: Central London (City)
- Working pattern: Hybrid (office and home), with flexibility around core hours
