Role Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Role Description

The role will support the Quality Manager. Responsible for overseeing and implementing quality systems and processes, ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability, and leading quality improvement initiatives across the business. The role is full time, on site

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement quality systems and processes to ensure that our products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations (both automotive & aerospace).
  • Conduct quality audits, review and analytics, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to identify and address product defects and issues.
  • Lead and mentor Quality Engineers, providing guidance and support on complex projects and initiatives.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to identify quality issues, develop corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to quality systems and processes.
  • Regularly communicate with key stakeholders, including senior management and customers, to provide updates on quality initiatives and progress.
  • Help ensure all inspection activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Directly affect the organisations reputation for quality and reliability, influencing customer trust and business sustainability.
  • Help to ensure that all equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly, scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Updating and helping to maintain departmental records, including inspection reports, equipment logs and team schedules.
  • Regularly assess processes and implement improvements to enhance department efficiency and effectiveness.

In addition, to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and of other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work. Ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements and full commitment to the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and management system.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a drive to seek out and address root cause.
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineers.
  • You must be able to remain calm under pressure, especially in situations when quality requirements may conflict with production demands.
  • Work to high standards of quality, within a strong safety culture and a good working knowledge of QMS ISO9001:2008 is desirable.
  • Capable of working with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables.
  • Good interpersonal skills and to work well in a team.
  • Good numerical and literacy skills.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements (AS9100 and IATF16949).
  • Proficiency in relevant software and inspection tools.
