We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Music Teacher to join our thriving state school in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Music Teacher who is passionate about the subject and keen to inspire students, particularly at Key Stage 5. As an experienced Music Teacher, you will play a key role in nurturing this passion and leading students, particularly at Key Stage 5, through their musical education.
The RoleAs an experienced Music Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Teaching Music Teacher lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a particular focus on A-Level music, ensuring students excel in both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
Designing and delivering a diverse and engaging curriculum that includes music theory, performance, composition, and music history.
Guiding students in individual and group performances, helping them refine their vocal, instrumental, and compositional skills.
Collaborating with the music team to enhance and evolve the curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of students across different year groups.
Providing constructive feedback to assess and support student progress, helping them achieve their full potential, especially those taking A-Level music.
Supporting extracurricular activities, including school concerts, music clubs, and ensembles, to give students the opportunity to showcase their talents outside the classroom.
Contributing to the department's growth, including mentoring less experienced Music Teachers and playing a leadership role in curriculum development.
We are looking for an experienced Music Teacher who is dedicated to providing an inspiring, high-quality music education. You should have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related field.
Proven experience teaching music at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a strong track record of success at A-Level.
Deep knowledge of music theory, performance, composition, and music history.
A passion for engaging and inspiring students to achieve their best in both practical and theoretical music tasks.
A creative approach to teaching that ensures lessons are stimulating and accessible for all students.
Excellent communication skills to engage with students, staff, and parents.
A commitment to extracurricular activities that enrich the school's music programme.
Experience in mentoring or taking on leadership responsibilities within a department is highly desirable.
