What is the role?

We are a rapidly expanding online fitness company based in North Glasgow. We are seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant, based in our office, to support our UK fitness division with day-to-day maintenance of financial records. This role supports local management and has strong relationships with the Management Accountant.

Responsibilities of the role:

·      Invoice Processing: Record and reconcile supplier and customer invoices accurately and on time.

·      Bank Transactions: Post daily bank entries and perform regular bank reconciliations.

·      Month-End Journals: Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other adjusting journals.

·      Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Maintain reconciliations for key accounts including VAT, payroll, and intercompany.

·      Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.

·      Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls and statutory requirements.

Candidate Profile:

·      Proficiency in accounting software and tools, such as Sage, Xero or comparable platforms.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

·      Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.

·      Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.

·      Strong organizational and time management skills.

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·      Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

·      Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.

·      AAT qualification or working towards ACCA/CIMA (preferred but not essential)
