Neuro Physio Service Lead Job Description

About the Role:

At Six Physio we are excited to announce the launch of a new specialist Neuro Physiotherapy service. We are seeking a passionate and experienced physiotherapist to lead this service development, ensuring it thrives and delivers exceptional care to patients. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a new service from the ground up. You will leverage your clinical expertise, training and leadership skills to build a team of excellent neuro physios, develop and deliver best-practice protocols, to establish Six Physio as a leader in neuro physiotherapy care.

Reporting to: Home Physio Lead.

Location: London – in clinic and community

Key Responsibilities

Service Development:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive neuro physiotherapy service within our scope whilst ensuring it aligns with national guidelines and best practices.
  • Work closely with the Group Directors, Clinic Directors, service leads and senior management to define the service vision, scope, and target patient population.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines specific to neurological conditions.
  • Identify and source appropriate equipment and resources to support the service delivery.

Clinical Leadership:

  • Recruit and/or train our team of highly skilled neuro/special interest MSK physiotherapists.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, support, and clinical guidance to the team, ensuring they maintain their advanced skills and knowledge in neuro physiotherapy.
  • Contribute guidance of the team's performance management, including conducting regular reviews and contributing to development plans where required. (Dotted line reporting structure)
  • Maintain a personal clinical caseload focused on neuro patients, ensuring you stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices.

Business Development:

  • Work collaboratively with Group Directors, Clinic Directors, the service leads and Marketing Manager to develop strategies to grow the neuro physiotherapy service.
  • Build relationships with key external referrers, including neurologists, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives to raise awareness of the service amongst relevant patient groups and healthcare providers.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including patient volumes, referrals, and service profitability.
  • Implement strategies to continuously improve service delivery and patient outcomes.

Person Specification:

  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist with a minimum of 5 years of experience in neuro physiotherapy.
  • Strong clinical expertise in the management of a wide range of neurological conditions.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Passionate about service development and continuous improvement.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of the financial and operational aspects of healthcare delivery.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current research and best practices in neuro physiotherapy.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
