We're developing an AI and automation powered SaaS platform for export controls and sanctions compliance.

Role Overview

We're seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of the core intelligence layer. You'll architect models that interpret regulatory logic, detect compliance risks, and support explainable decision-making. The initial contract term would be to support the project to TRL 7, following which it is anticipated that the role would become permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Design and train NLP and classification models for logic and detection
  • Develop explainable AI components to support auditability and legal defensibility
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate model outputs into user workflows
  • Lead data strategy: sourcing, cleaning, and structuring regulatory datasets
  • Implement model monitoring, retraining pipelines, and performance benchmarks
  • Mentor junior developers and support cross-functional sprint planning

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in AI/ML engineering, ideally in NLP or compliance domains
  • Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, ML ops tools
  • Experience with regulatory or legal logic encoding is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with cloud deployment and containerization
  • Strong understanding of model explainability, fairness, and risk thresholds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Mentoring skills a strong plus
