Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Manager to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities, ensuring seamless coordination across all logistics functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead process improvements, utilise advanced logistics systems, and contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain network. The ideal applicant will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in logistics management, and proficiency with relevant software tools.

Duties

  • Develop and implement effective category management strategies to optimise procurement and inventory levels.
  • Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to coordinate shipping schedules, route planning, and freight optimisation.
  • Manage warehouse operations using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 to ensure accurate stock control and order fulfilment.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to streamline shipping & receiving processes and improve service levels.
  • Analyse supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and develop process improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise materials handling activities, including forklift operations, picking & packing, and inventory replenishment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all warehousing and transportation activities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing continuous improvement projects within logistics operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery accuracy, lead times, and cost efficiency.

Experience

  • Proven track record in logistics management within a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain principles, including materials handling, shipping & receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and data analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience with 3PL providers, freight forwarding, and customs procedures is desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Valid forklift licence is preferred; experience with materials handling equipment is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a focus on detail-oriented execution of logistics tasks.
