Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of gas systems. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and systems in both residential and commercial settings. The Gas Engineer will ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and heating systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of gas installations to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in gas systems, providing effective solutions.
  • Perform plumbing tasks related to gas installations as required.
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assemble components of gas systems and ensure proper functioning through testing.
  • Carry out heavy lifting as necessary during installation or maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues to management.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times while on-site.

Skills

  • Proficient in welding techniques relevant to gas installations.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience in plumbing is highly desirable for this role.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to installations.
  • Carpentry skills are an advantage for custom installations or modifications.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required during installation processes.
  • A valid commercial driving licence is beneficial for transporting equipment to job sites.
