Out-of-Hours Funeral Home Support Driver

We are currently looking for two people to join our team to support the out-of-hours operation of our growing funeral business by transferring deceased persons form their place of passing to our funeral homes in Smethwick.

This role is a 0-hour contract offered on the basis of call-outs being paid at £55.00 per instance between the hours of 17:00 and 09:00 the following day, and for the entire weekend. the average amount of call-outs per week is 6, but naturally there are periods of higher, and lower deaths which will affect this. there is the opportunity for any amount of cover you wish to offer, with the minimum of one week per-month being expected. if being on-call more than this suits, we will be happy to factor this into our rota.

we will provide uniform and all necessary training, you will always be partnered with one of our staff but a full UK-issued driving licence is required for this role.

We answer calls to personal homes, care homes, and hospices from around the Midlands to bring people's loved ones into our car outside of normal office hours.

We are the contract partner for West Midlands Police in Sandwell, Walsall, and Dudley and we are obliged to respond to al manner of requests by them in instances where people pass away unexpectedly, or in distressing situations, so please be aware that there is an aspect of this job which might not suit everyone. Counselling is available through us for free at any time.

There is also the opportunity of weekend driving on funerals if wanted to bolster income, but these discussions can take place once employed.
