We are a new start up cafe Just outside of Burford. We have a brunch and deli offering so hours will be day time not evening. Seasonal, local and delicious food is what we are serving. We are building a team that are as passionate and driven as we are to bring this new start up café to life. Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage service, coupled with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our café runs smoothly and efficiently, providing an exceptional experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of menu items, ensuring freshness and quality.
  • Operate coffee machines and other equipment to create a variety of beverages, utilising barista skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and addressing customer needs.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, demonstrating basic math skills for processing payments.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Barista experience is an advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong serving skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: £12.21-£13.30 per hour
