ION is recruiting a energetic and driven Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal role in the successful, satisfactory and value driven project delivery of financial technology projects.
This role requires someone with experience in project management, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to build and mature a growing delivery team.
The Senior Project Manager will lead customer projects, but also act as a key escalation point for client issues, manage and coach junior project managers, and help shape how our delivery function evolves as we scale.
Tasks- Plan and execute our projects to our ION delivery methodology, ensuring our teams and our customers perform their tasks, deliver the appropriate outcomes and achieve sign off at the appropriate points of the project.
- To work with our teams and customers and defining clear roles and responsibilities and agreeing the best way to work together throughout the project
- To collaboratively design a plan that represents the delivery of the project with our teams and customers
- To work with our teams in appropriately resourcing the required skills and expertise of resources onto the project based on availability and required delivery targets of the project
- To execute with our teams and customers the required processes for identification and remedy of risks, issues and changes throughout the project
- To set-up and execute the required reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle to provide trackable progress and insight to our Directors and customers
- To actively monitor time and quality targets throughout the delivery of the project and to perform any required actions or management as required
- Monitor financial and quality objectives, ensuring delivery meets commercial targets and corrective actions are taken where required. Take ownership of client change, working proactively with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve challenges, and maintain strong client relationships.
- To create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and contribute to the ongoing development of ION's delivery methodology, drawing on software PM best practices to mature how projects are managed across the team.
- Report to project executive leadership and take an active role in issue resolution, planning and guiding the project
- Provide line management to Project Managers, including coaching, guidance, and performance development to continually improve quality of delivery and team capability.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in project management
- Experience of using Project Management software
- Understands basic commercial and revenue models, centred around invoicing, revenue recognition, margin and costs and analysing variances and initiating corrective actions
- Competent in use of different project methodologies
- Multi-customer portfolio delivery experience is desired
- Exemplar project management delivery and engagement skills with strong previous experience and understanding of the delivery process lifecycle.
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organisational skills
- Previous stakeholder management skills and confidence and gravitas in front of clients, project teams and 3rd parties
- Experience of supporting the development of junior team members is desirable
We offer a salary of £37,000 - £55,000, ION share option scheme, 25 days holiday, hybrid working with 2 days a week working from home (if you want it), flexi-hours, child-care scheme, a fantastic work environment and your birthday off.
