We're seeking a Lab and Automation Technician to join our innovative Preclinical Services department. In this hands-on role, you'll work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, using cell-based and molecular biology workflows alongside automation to deliver for compound screening and cell line engineering customers. As part of an integrated department, you'll also support cross-functional projects, partnering effectively with scientific teammates to troubleshoot technical challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives that advance departmental and company objectives.

Note that this position will require flexible working to cover an evening shift and 7-day operations on a rota basis.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide effective support to the teams operating our cell-based screening and cell line development production equipment. This involves using equipment such as robotic arms, liquid handlers, incubators and various plate reader/imaging instruments on a day/evening shift rota basis
· Contribute to the daily running of laboratory operations, including but not limited to monitoring of consumable levels, preparing & dispensing compounds and reagents, cleaning and maintenance of laboratories and equipment such as Multidrop combi, Well Vario and/or Janus
· Maintain cell lines in culture and prepare them for production workflows
· Carry out tasks accurately, follow methodologies & operating procedures and record all work to the agreed company and departmental standards.
· Help maintain a safe and efficient working environment, comply with company policies, follow instructions
· Be an effective team member in supporting all groups within the Preclinical Services department at Revvity Cambridge
· Work with scientific and non-scientific staff to enable smooth running of the labs
· Contribute to additional activities within the team, as required
Essential Competencies & Requirements
· Educated to at least A level or equivalent
· An enthusiastic learner with a "can-do" attitude
· A diligent nature with good attention to detail
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Good time keeping skills and able to work in a professional environment

Desirable Competencies & Requirements
· Science qualification and experience of performing in a team environment are desirable but not essential
