BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of highway maintenance services across Scotland. We manage and maintain over 2,000km of Scotland's trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to help keep Scotland moving.
The South-East Trunk Road Unit spans 506km through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish Borders. Trunk roads in the South East range from the major multi-lane motorways across the central belt to roads through villages in the borders.
The South-East Unit includes 870 bridges and structures including the iconic Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge, as well as other major bridges such as the Kincardine Bridge and Clackmannanshire Bridge.
We have an exciting opportunity for electrician to join our existing team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Electrical Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the Forth Road Bridge, Queensferry Crossing & South East Trunk Road Facilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular inspections and electrical maintenance on both the Forth Road Bridge, Queensferry Crossing and South East Trunk Road facilities.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults efficiently to minimize disruptions to road users.
- Contributing to the implementation of electrical system upgrades and enhancements for these projects.
- Collaborating with a team of skilled professionals to ensure the safe operation of these critical infrastructure elements.
- Strictly adhering to safety standards and regulations to uphold the safety of the public and your team. Providing technical expertise and recommendations for continuous improvements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Approved electrician with current & valid SJIB ECS Card
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in electrical maintenance and repair
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and remain calm and effective under pressure
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a team-first mindset
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices
- Flexibility to work in diverse environments, including at height and within confined spaces.
