We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to join our team at Lavender Grove Cares Residential home in Waltham Abbey.

As a Team Leader you will play a critical role in providing care, guidance and support to children in a residential setting. You will be responsible for leading a team of support workers and ensuring the well-being and safety of the children under your care.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead a team of support workers, providing guidance, support and supervision.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members effectively..
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration and professional development.

Care and support:

  • Ensure the physical, emotional and social well-being of children in our residential home.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans for each child, taking into consideration their unique needs and preferences.

Safeguarding and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures, promoting the welfare and protection of children.
  • Assess and manage risks within our residential home environment, implementing appropriate safety measures.
  • Respond effectively to incidents and emergencies, following established protocols.

Collaboration and communication:

  • Collaborate with external agencies including social Services and educational establishments, to ensure the holistic care and and development of children
  • Participate in team meeting, case conferences and training sessions to share information, discuss strategies and enhance professional knowledge.

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar role within a children's residential home or related setting.
  • A relevant qualification in Children's Health and Social care.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of child development, safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation .
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and make sound decisions
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.
