Position: Hospitality Host
Hours Per Week: 40
Pay Rate: £12.27 per hour

Job Purpose:

• To serve meals, light snacks, and beverages, including alcohol, to customers in the bar area or on the gaming floor.
• Making customers aware of any current promotions.

• Ensuring that the gaming floor and bar area is kept clean and tidy at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

• To give all customers an excellent and attentive service.

• Create a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

• To ensure all policies and procedures in our company manuals are strictly adhered to.

• Adhere to all LCCP, AMLD, Health and Safety and Fire Regulations.

• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and appearance.

• Ensure the approved company uniform is clean and well maintained at all times.

• Maintain confidentiality at all times.

• To have an in-depth knowledge of wines, spirits and cocktails, glass selection, wine pouring, etc.

• To have full knowledge of back of house operations i.e., barrel changes, cellar care, line cleaning.

• To give all customers an excellent and attentive service, and to ensure presentation of orders is of the highest standard.

• To be knowledgeable about the products and promotions on offer and prepared to answer questions regarding them.

• Preparing and serving of hot & cold snacks.

• To ensure that all orders are recorded accurately, reducing the risk of mistakes.

• High level of personal grooming.

• Hands and nails should be clean and long hair tied back.

• Minimal jewellery and make up to be worn.

• To be responsible for accurate payment transactions.

• To arrive punctually for the shift, enabling you to prepare adequately.

• To be vigilant and report anything suspicious to the Duty Manager.

• The requisition and rotation of stock when required, and ensure that bar stocks are kept to sufficient levels.

• To ensure that all alcohol measures are correct.

• Follow the responsible drinking rule.

• General Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Gaming Services Manager. Key Skill Requirements:

• Ensure excellent customer service skills.

• Maintain correct proportion size to ensure required GP% is maintained.

• Satisfy any individual dietary requirements during food preparation.

• Versatile in serving and preparing wine, beers, sprits, liquors and cocktails.

• Be dependable and professional.

• Experienced in dealing with customers.

• Good time management. Communication Skills

• Excellent communication skills with an outgoing friendly nature.

• Remain calm and reasoned when dealing with difficult situations and customers.

• Able to take instruction from senior members of staff to ensure the smooth running of their department to enhance the customer experience.

• Be able to communicate successfully in both written and verbal format.

Technical Skills

• Current Food Safety certificates.

• Exceptional attention to detail with beverage and plate presentation.

• Operate all food service equipment and machinery.

• Hold a personal licence in the serving of alcohol.

• Be resourceful, inventive, and self-confident.

• Be well presented.

• Have excellent leadership and communication skills.

• To work well independently and as part of a team.

• Able to work under pressure.

• Be a good listener.

Responsible Gaming Responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance with internal Responsible Gambling policies and UK Gambling Commission Licence Codes of Conduct and Practice (LCCP) Licensing Objectives:

• Preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime,

• Ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way, and

• Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.

• To promote awareness of Responsible Gambling strategies and procedures.

• Ensuring Responsible Gambling is an integral part of the daily operation.

• To actively participate and support the annual National Responsible Gambling Week.

• To be proactive in safeguarding our customers and the business by ensuring that standards of compliance both internally and externally are delivered to the highest level and opportunities to improve are identified to support the business objectives.

In keeping with accepted principles of good Company practice, you may be required to undertake additional or alternative duties related to your position as directed from time to time by your Line Manager.
