This is a full time permanent role but we are also open to considering a professional contractor who is looking for a long term assignment.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Engineer - Android Graphics Framework, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of mobile devices. Your work will include:
- Optimising Real-Time Rendering Pipelines:
Develop cutting-edge innovations to deliver class-leading performance. - Enhancing Android Graphics Stack:
Implement features and extensions for SurfaceFlinger, SKIA, HWUI, and more. - Performance Optimisation:
Analyze graphics workloads, identify bottlenecks, and optimise for both performance and power efficiency. - Middleware Development:
Create optimal libraries based on graphics and compute APIs like Vulkan and OpenGL ES. - Device Evaluation:
Bring up and evaluate new devices, collaborating with teams to define and implement next-gen UX requirements. - Technical Leadership:
Take ownership of significant project sections, translating complex requirements into detailed designs and implementations.
Who You Are
Required Skills:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (industrial experience may substitute).
- Expertise in computer graphics with middleware development experience (Vulkan preferred, OpenGL ES, OpenGL, or DirectX).
- Deep understanding of graphics pipelines and modern mobile GPU architectures.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
- Proven track record in real-time embedded software development for mobile devices.
- Strong OS fundamentals (memory management, multithreading, user/kernel mode interaction).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with SKIA graphics library.
- GPU shader algorithm design (GLSL, HLSL).
- Android OS system software development.
- GPU driver development.
- Image processing algorithms.
- ARM 64-bit architecture experience.
- Familiarity with CPU/NPU hardware architectures.
- Java/Python development experience.
- Knowledge of ML and neural networks.
