Senior Events & Venue Manager

Glow Events – Maidstone, Kent (Multi-Venue Role)

Overview

Glow Events is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Events & Venue Manager to lead the delivery of exceptional weddings and events across our portfolio of stunning venues. Reporting to the Head of Events and Managing Director, you will oversee a team of Event Managers and Assistants, ensuring seamless operations, outstanding client experiences, and consistent high standards from enquiry to post-event. This is a hands-on leadership role for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and performance-manage Event Managers and Assistants

  • Conduct training, audits, and shadowing to uphold company standards

  • Delegate tasks per the Operations Manual and promote a positive, engaged team culture

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead planning for complex/high-profile weddings and VIP events

  • Act as senior client point of contact; review timelines, floor plans, and logistics on Sonas

  • Oversee pre-event setup, on-day operations, and post-event breakdown across venues

  • Handle escalations, last-minute changes, and vendor compliance with professionalism

Multi-Venue Operations

  • Coordinate with Venue Managers and Facilities to ensure site readiness

  • Manage maintenance, stock (beverages/linen), equipment, and cleanliness standards

  • Liaise with Kent Ceremonies and third-party suppliers

Sales & Client Experience

  • Conduct venue viewings and support the Sales team with enquiries

  • Oversee scheduling of staff and freelancers with the Client Experience team

  • Implement client feedback loops and continuous improvement processes

Requirements

  • Proven senior experience in events/venue management (weddings focus essential)

  • Strong leadership, crisis management, and attention to detail

  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder coordination skills

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between venues

  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and peak-season hours (on-call rota)

Hours & Location

  • Average 40 hours per week over 5 days (out of 7), with significant flexibility

  • Based at Glow Events Head Office, Maidstone; travel to venues as required
