We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join us at Associate level at our office in Cardiff.

Are you a Civil Engineer with experience in the buildings sector? Do you have a passion for delivering projects for a variety of clients?

As a highly experienced Civil engineering designer, you will help lead the Civils team's project delivery, taking responsibility for all aspects of our projects from resourcing to commercial management. You will lead the way for our engineers and technicians, promoting design innovation, sustainability and technical excellence. You will maintain a high-level overview of your team's projects, ensuring that the design is delivered correctly and in accordance with Stantec's quality assurance procedures and health-and-safety responsibilities.
  

You will take responsibility for aspects of management including:

  •  Resource planning
  •  Managing staff HR issues
  •  Client management and business development
  •  Identifying team weaknesses/issues
  •  Change control/additional fees
  •  Financial performance
  •  Divisional task groups/design innovation
  •  Contractual matters


You will take responsibility for ensuring a sustainable stream of work through sales planning, project bids, tender interviews, client management and business networking. You will be able to contribute to marketing materials and assist with business/sales planning and financial budgeting. 

About You:

  •  MEng or BEng in civil engineering.
  •  Chartered membership/ Associate membership of the ICE OR working towards Chartership.
  •  Significant experience in civil engineering design associated with building developments 
  •  Experience within the local market and knowledge of local stakeholders, clients and design team partners 
  •  Strong understanding of SAB Legislation and a proven track record in managing projects through the SAB Process 
  •  Self-motivated team player with good people skills.
  •  Strong communication, analysis, technical design and drawing skills.
  •  Experience using and / or directing people in the use of AutoCAD, InfoDrainage, Civil3D, Collaborative model platforms, NBS Chorus
  •  Developing marketing/ business development skills.
