A growing international Not-for-Profit focused on improving early childhood care and education for disadvantaged rural communities in Africa. Working at scale, the charity trains and supports educational schemes. The programme is delivered through local government teams using a training-of-trainers model, and they are seeking an exceptional Program Manager to lead the expansion.

The Program Manager will lead the new market launch planning, governance, and delivery of the organisation's expansion into new African countries. Acting as a senior engagement and coordination lead, this role will provide strategic oversight and hands-on programme delivery, helping to establish robust frameworks and build internal capability to support future launches.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the programme to launch operations in 2–3 new countries
  • Develop a repeatable playbook for future regional launches, covering design, resourcing, governance, and delivery
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and industry stakeholders in target regions
  • Support the transition away from current operations while enabling new market entry
  • Implement and manage programme management tools and processes, including risk registers, delivery plans, issue logs, and stage gates

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in a commercial or consulting environment
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale programme delivery or new market entry in the not-for-profit, education, or international development sectors
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk management, and programme assurance
  • Experience working with NGOs, government agencies, and international partners, ideally across African continent
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, comfortable operating across senior levels and geographies

  • Duration: Monday 1st December - Friday 27th March, 4 days per week
  • Daily rate: Up to £600 Ltd, depending on experience
