About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to join our children's residential services team. In this senior position, you will play a key role in providing trauma-informed care, guiding a small team of support workers, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding therapeutic support to young people in our care. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and therapeutic leads to maintain a nurturing, safe, and empowering environment that promotes healing, growth, and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care and therapeutic support to young people in a residential setting
  • Take a lead role in supporting, mentoring, and guiding Therapeutic Support Workers within your team
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets regulatory and quality standards
  • Encourage the development of life skills, independence, and emotional resilience
  • Contribute to and implement individual care and behaviour support plans
  • Lead by example in promoting positive relationships and restorative practice
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with organisational and regulatory requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with young people in a residential or semi-independent setting
  • Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Residential Childcare – or commitment to complete within 12 months
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and solution-focused in challenging situations
  • Successful completion of all onboarding checks, including enhanced DBS
