Pepperdine Barrett Independent Family Funeral Directors, in South Manchester, are looking to recruit an experienced Funeral Director.

The successful candidate should be capable of arranging and conducting over 100 funerals per year, be professional, caring, proactive with attention to detail and possess good communication skills. Good handwriting and computer skills together with a high degree of common sense are of course essential. You would form part of a small team and be able to take part in our on call rota, one week in two / three, dependent on staff levels.

Duties include:

- Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and provide guidance and support during the planning process

- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including scheduling, transportation, and logistics

- Prepare the deceased for burial or cremation, including embalming and dressing

- Arrange for the purchase of caskets, urns, and other funeral-related merchandise

- Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents, such as death certificates and permits

- Provide grief counseling and support to families before, during, and after funeral services

- Manage funeral home operations, including staff supervision, facility maintenance, and inventory management

Skills:

- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with grieving families and provide compassionate support

- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure smooth funeral service operations

- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in completing legal documents and handling sensitive information

- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with preparing the deceased for burial or cremation

- Proficiency in event planning to create meaningful and personalized funeral services

- Sales skills to assist families in selecting funeral merchandise and services that meet their needs```

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
