Description

  • Develop and deliver category management strategy and implement new processes required to support the introduction of category management to the business
  • Lead range and availability initiatives to drive category performance.
  • Build strong relationships throughout the buying and retail function to drive category objectives.
  • Track business performance & promotions to analyse success for future pricing and promotional strategy development.
  • Develop and implement category growth plan
  • Innovate the brands fixture for future trends and increased consumer engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with commercial, marketing and retail teams to shape category strategies.
  • Step change the financial performance of our key categories through the introduction of category management
  • Determine which suppliers and brands should be most strategic for us and ensure joint business plans are in place to achieve strong growth
  • Manage and develop the buying team to ensure smooth and efficient processes
  • Ensure optimal SKU count and space allocations
  • Help shape the future of the team, performance, capability and structure

Work with suppliers and stores to ensure optimal training plan is put in place and executed; product, placement, merchandising etc.

Profile

A successful Retail Category Manager should have:

  • Proven category management experience in high profile accounts / brands
  • Track record of delivering annual category growth plans to deliver increased performance in sales
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills
  • Be a strong communicator with a positive attitude, able to influence cross-functionally with all stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with stores to influence space allocation and merchandising of ranges and products.
