Join Our Team
We are currently looking for Care Assistants to join our passionate team at our Home in Launcells, Bude. Our Care Assistants are compassionate, dedicated and reliable members of our residential care home team. They provide high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity and well-being. Our carers demonstrate a genuine desire to care for elderly or vulnerable individuals and are committed to making a positive impact on their lives.
We are happy to be flexible, and are open to applications from individuals seeking between 14-35 hours per week. We also ask that our team are available to work alternate weekends.
We are also happy to accept interest from those seeking day shifts or night shifts (noting that we do not typically ask staff to work both days and nights, usually one or the other).
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity is maintained.
- Mobility Support: Aid residents with mobility issues, helping them to move around safely and comfortably. This may include using mobility aids and assisting with exercises.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the residents' physical or mental health to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a caring and supportive environment.
- Daily Activities: Assist residents in participating in social activities, encouraging engagement and a sense of community.
- Housekeeping: Help with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe living environment for the residents.
- Meal Assistance: Assist with serving of meals, and support residents who need help with eating and drinking.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, incidents, and any other relevant information.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other carers, healthcare professionals, and management to provide comprehensive care and support.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential:
- Previous experience in a care home or similar environment.
- Basic understanding of dementia care.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Physical ability to carry out care duties, including lifting and assisting residents.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care).
