Fire Prevention Officer
Are you motivated, a confident communicator, and passionate about keeping communities safe? This could be the role for you.
Step into a career with one of the country's foremost fire and rescue services, where your contribution helps create a safer West Yorkshire. This is a chance to be part of a team that works tirelessly to protect communities and reduce the risks that lead to fire incidents.
By carrying out Safe and Well home visits, you will deliver personalised fire safety advice and collaborate with other dedicated professionals to address personal, behavioural, and household risk factors. Together, you'll play a vital role in preventing fires and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents across West Yorkshire.
We're looking for someone with a track record of educating and engaging communities, who can work confidently on their own (including lone working) and who communicates to a high standard both in writing and speech.
By joining a leading organisation, you will gain the satisfaction of contributing daily to the success of one of only six metropolitan fire and rescue services in the UK, supporting more than 950 firefighters who work tirelessly to protect lives around the clock.
The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check and the possession of a current valid driving licence.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, free parking, a flexible working scheme, access to an employee assistance programme, ongoing training and development opportunities, and participation in sports and social clubs with free use of our on-site gym.
Applications for job share are welcome.
We are a caring organisation; we promote an environment of inclusivity and learning, and welcome people from all walks of life – just as long as you can show commitment to our values such as integrity and teamwork.
To be eligible to apply, you must attend one of our one-hour sessions at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters (BD11 2DY). Attendance must be confirmed in advance by booking through the links provided.
