Comms and Branding Support
We need a volunteer with brand development experience to create a clear, shared visual identity for a multi-agency youth homelessness partnership. The partnership needs its own look, messaging, and basic brand assets to help it stand out as a reputable partnership.
What difference will you make?
This work will directly support our wider goal of building a stronger and more visible collective voice on youth housing in Gloucestershire. A clear identity will help the partnership influence strategy, advocate for better provision, and contribute meaningfully to the development of a countywide Live and Work scheme. Your skills could make a real difference in helping us get there.
Creating a clear, shared brand will give the Partnership Committee the visibility and credibility it needs. Right now, our work sits under one organisation's identity, which limits how confidently we can speak as a collective. A neutral, professional brand will make the partnership recognisable in its own right, strengthen our voice in discussions with councils, funders, and service leaders, and help us influence how youth housing and homelessness support is shaped across Gloucestershire. Most importantly, it will support our goal of driving the development of a countywide Live and Work scheme, which we believe is something that needs a strong, unified messaging and a partnership that looks legitimate. Your work will directly help us push for better options for young people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, making it easier for the partnership to advocate, collaborate, and be taken seriously by the people who make decisions.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone with experience in brand development, visual design, or communications design. Ideally someone who has created brand identities for organisations, partnerships, or multi-agency groups before. The key requirement is the ability to translate a complex set of stakeholders, ambitions, and shared aims into a clean, functional visual identity that looks credible and works in real-world use.
You don't need to build a full corporate suite, but you must be comfortable producing practical assets that others can use easily and consistently. Experience presenting design options, explaining the rationale behind each choice, and refining work based on feedback is important. You'll be working with multiple organisations, so you need to be able to navigate differing views without losing the clarity of the design.
We're also looking for someone who understands how brand and messaging support strategic influence. The partnership is working towards shaping a countywide Live and Work scheme, so we need someone who can build something that looks credible to councils, commissioners, and external partners. If you've designed for social causes, public sector work, or community partnerships before is a bonus.
Good communication skills matter. We need someone who can ask the right questions, keep things moving and work collaboratively with a mixed group of partners.
We need a simple, robust identity that allows the partnership to show up professionally and consistently as a joint voice for young people. If you're someone who gets straight to the point, understands how to build functional design systems, and is comfortable leading a small but meaningful piece of work, you're exactly who we're looking for.
What will you be doing?
We're looking for a volunteer with strong brand development experience to help create a clear and credible identity for our multi-agency Partnership Committee. The committee is made up of several small charities working together to improve outcomes for young adults at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Gloucestershire. At the moment, all public-facing material sits under the Gloucestershire Nightstop brand, but this no longer fits the wider collaboration. We need a neutral, shared brand that represents all partners equally and can stand on its own.
Your main task will be to design a simple, professional brand identity that reflects the committee's purpose improving access to safe housing, tackling inequalities, and coordinating support for young people across the county. We also want the partnership to become well recognised locally and regionally, because one of our strategic aims is to influence the development of a countywide "Live and Work" scheme. For that to happen, the partnership needs a coherent identity that can hold its own during conversations with councils, funders, and sector leaders.
You will review our existing materials, values, outcomes, and visual content, then support us to create a standalone brand identity. This includes producing a small brand pack we can use across documents, presentations, and public communications. You will also help refine a concise set of core messages that explain who we are and what the partnership exists to achieve.
You won't be working alone. The partnership committee includes representatives from Gloucestershire Nightstop, Cheltenham Housing Aid Centre, Cirencester Housing for Young People, and Chispa. You'll have a clear point of contact (Strategic Development Officer at Nightstop) who can coordinate decisions and keep the process moving.
The deliverables we need are a functioning visual identity, a basic brand pack, and a small set of messages that accurately describe the partnership's aims.
